Sleazegrinder Review - Broken Toys |
|
Hate in the Box documents the continuing mad science of a pixies-ish S&M supermodel and her gang of loyal worker drones as they perform industro-porn death disco using children’s toy instruments wired for wickedness and played through giant stacks of wall shaking amplifiers. Rainbow Blight coos and moans about the inherent tragedy of being so beautiful and so mean, while brightly colored plastic and the guts of strange machines careen and smash and melt into each other like startling new hybrids all around her, and somewhere in the sonic fireworks, there’s a pulsing, irradiated zombie beat holding it all together. Sort of like the Lords of Acid, only fucking crazy.

Sleazegrinder Review - Razorblade Fairytales |
|
I
think the trailer for “Three on a Meathook” (1973) said it
best: “Little broken dolls that keep on dancing, long after the music
stops”. The voice-over guy was talking about the dead girls hanging from
hooks in the barn, but he could just as easily have been describing the
topsy-turvy, bloody carnival world of Rainbow Blight and Optimus
Crime, the cyborg twins that serve as the throbbing nucleus for NYC’s
screech n’ burn, goth-dustrial brat rock apocalypse, Hate in the Box. |

subconscious released the song “Porcelain” to my REM cycles two days
ago that I found just how truly compelling the album can be. |

Introducing, "Your Demon Dream and Favorite Fiend - The Unstoppable", Rainbow Blight! She is the voice of rage and dancing dolly of the NYC hate machine, Hate In The Box (see review). Colorful and creative, she is art-in-motion. Much love and mad props go out to her for showing her Scary Family values by submitting herself to this twisted interview with Scary Jerry. Believe it or not, she didn't even regret it! Grab a handful of candy and a glass of Kool-aid and enjoy this in-depth look into the mind of this diabolic doll. |

Take one part Dr. Frankenstein, one part “Mad Max” character, one part belly dancing “Bride Of Chucky”, add a whole lot of sex appeal, stir until your hands go numb and you’ve got a pretty good idea of the Hate In The Box stage presence. |

These vocals snap at you, fast, as though her mouth were composed of surgically transplanted claw crabs, as befits a singer with an ‘infamous jump’ (allegedly), and ‘PaperCut Kisses’, all crouching tigress, hidden draconian keyboard rioting is a frantic mess, which I like |
